CANNOT GO LOWER. For sale are two amazing book sets dealing with, arguably, the greatest president of the United States. Both sets are being sold as one package. 1. THE COLLECTED WORKS OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN, 11 Volumes. Produced by Rutgers University Press in 1988, this second printing is simply stunning. The blue hardback cover, embossed with silver printing, is in NEW CONDITION. There are many Collected Work sets out there, most having been printed in 1953, but I have yet to find this particular set on the open market. It is an 11-volume set, but unfortunately, it is missing Volume 9, which happens to be the index. It has been replaced with the upgraded, gorgeous index from Easton Press, which was published in 1993. As an extra added inducement, this set also contains the two, very rare, First and Second Supplements, which were compiled after the set had gone to press. Truly a set to pass down through the generations. 2. ABRAHAM LINCOLN: A LIFE, 2 Volumes. If there is a "magnum opus" in the field of Lincoln studies, this set is it. This gorgeous 2-Volume hardback set, is still in its original box covered in the original plastic, as it has never been opened. Published by Johns Hopkins in 2008, this tome was written by one of the deans of Lincoln scholarship, Michael Burlingame. This set has supplanted the books that preceded it (and I daresay superseded the ones that came after) due to the depth and breadth of the scholarship.
