Item description
? Lycium barbarum ‘Phoenix Tears’, 2.5-inch container size. Also called wolfberry vine, this vigorous plant is prized for its bright orange-red berries. The berries can be eaten fresh, dried, or used in cooking. Even the tender leaves are edible once cooked.
? This attractive vine can be grown on a trellis to more than 10 feet tall or trimmed as a compact bush at 4–6 feet. It creates a graceful, fountain-shaped form when trained through a simple support like a tomato cage. Light purple, bell-shaped flowers appear in May and continue through the summer.
? Starting around the third year, the flowers are followed by clusters of colorful berries. Phoenix Tears is self-fertile, drought resilient, and thrives in half to full sun with well-drained soil. It grows best with warm summer days, cool nights, and neutral to slightly alkaline soil. Plants are grown from cuttings and are hardy in U.S.D.A. zones 5–9.
? From May to September, plants are sent in containers with soil and leaves intact, carefully packed in a mailing tube or box. From September to April, while dormant without leaves, plants are sent bare root with roots wrapped in moist media for safe handling.
? Your order will arrive in good condition. If any issues occur upon receiving order, contact us the same day with a detailed description and photos so we can assist you.
