Vintage 30s Mountain Goat Deer Crystal Belly and 13 similar items

This pair is adorable perched on invisible precipices, are they sheep, goats, or some other exotic critter? Large, faceted glass stones are prong set in gold tone plated metal in open back settings; they both have old faceted turquoise glass stone eyes. The larger one is 2” x 1”; the smaller one is 1 ” x ”; and, they are connected with a 2 ” embossed chain. Both are marked, Made in USA and a star with an S (or 5) at its center. I did some research trying to identify the mark, I didn’t find anything definitive. There is minor wear in the gold tone finish at the tip of their noses and ears; the rhinestone eyes are uniformly aged. Overall, they are in very good vintage condition. From the collection of a long-time vintage costume jewelry enthusiast, they will be fun to wear and/or collect.
