Can anyone read this chinese symbol?

I am getting ready to write a description on this Vintage 14k gold Bamboo ring. On each side is a Chinese symbol and it would be great to know what it means. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t know but I work at a Chinese Restaurant and I can ask around tonight when I go in. I will let you know what I find later tonight.

I asked my boss and his wife and a few of the cooks and none of them new what it meant.. sorry.
