I downloaded Windows 10 from the Microsoft website instead of the seller link and created a USB boot drive using the Microsoft media creation tool with no problems.

I think that Win 10 is a very good and stable product, the only thing I don't like about it is that you need to switch off so many options... if you don't do that, you end up "sharing" your computer and bandwidth with the world and the software companies. For the rest everything was compatible with my hardware (even my 9 year old printer), but there is not software for my LG-G2 phone yet, to be able to synchronize and make backups.

Could not automatically get Win 10 update because my Win 7 OS had been installed on 3 computers in my house. Initial installation not seamless: NEEDED TO INSTALL LATEST MOTHERBOARD DRIVERS. Works perfectly now. New Outlook client for email is best I've ever used. Internet browsers look and work better.

I was a bit leery of downloading such a low cost license key from the Universal Media. However, the license was good and gave no trouble when activating with Microsoft. It may have helped that I used my own Volume License copy of Windows 10 Pro 64bit instead of the link provided.

I can't say anything specific to this version of Windows that makes it better than Win7 or XP. I used Win8 for a couple of months simply because I wanted to know what it was like. I installed 10 from scratch on one computer - also for the experience, because I work in IT. I tried upgrading another two. The upgrade worked fine on one and not at all on the other. I disliked the interface of both 8 and 10 and made it go away. Get classic shell, and you won't have to see any of that tablet stuff. More importantly, though, I've used 10 on 3 computers for some 10 months now. I don't think it's better than XP (Pro,SP2), but it's been stable. It does what I want it to do (sometimes pretty elaborate stuff). XP is gone (although for my legacy stuff I have an XP VMware machine). Win7 will be gone soon. 10 will tide you over the next couple of years.

I am an old Microsoft user. I started with DOS 3.1 and have always loved it. I remember the memory hog DOS 4 and how memory friendly and manageable DOS 5 was. I was reluctant to upgrade to Windows 95 for a long time but when I did, I loved it. There has been problems with Microsoft products like Vista, but in all, ole Bill has brought us a long ways. Once you learn Windows 10, it's like the long anticipated update from DOS 4 to DOS 5. Its good.

Windows 10 is the very best operating system provided by Microsoft. It works perfectly and provides all the capability I need.
I avoided Windows 8, but since installing Windows 10 I can see version 8 held a lot of good things that it brought to this hybrid version. I am very happy with Windows 10's efficiency; I will admit it comes with a learning curve that I am not completely over, but so far when I want to do something, there is a way to do it within Windows 10.

I bought the Nuc & found out that it's a pain in the a*** to install Win 7 on it so I got Win 10 Pro instead.
When I put Win 10 on another computer 6 months ago, I didn't like it & switched back to Win 7.
However; after putting Win 10 on the Nuc & playing with it for awhile, I'm liking it very much.
So much, that I'm going to put Win 10 back on the Win 7 computer.
I like the fact that there aren't 300+ updates needed upon first Win 10 install, rather 1 or 2 big updates & you're done.
I also like the lock screen with the option to use a 4 digit pin instead of a long password to unlock it.
Also like that it's relatively secure out-of-the-box,using Windows Defender(which can be turned off easily enough if you decide to use another A/V like I did).
And with Win 10 Pro,the user can defer updates that might cause system instability,Win 10 Home does NOT
include this feature.
Like many others,I didn't like the idea of Microsoft spying on me & I had concerns about data
collection in Win 10,but I found out that it is easy to simply change the way the OS behaves to negate any privacy concerns the user might have.
So,all in all,a pretty nice upgrade to Win 7 for me
with only a little more setup time needed to tailor Win 10 to my needs.

Microsoft is getting better.
Besides turning off almost every setting in the Settings and deleting most of the bloat and store items... make sure you turn off the internet 80% throttling and automatic update download and installs (all on by default). These can be changed in gpedit.msc.
Besides those two not obvious settings everything else was relatively straight forward to configure the way I want it.
No problems yet.

The online activation didn't work and the error message was less than helpful. Once I figured out that the more time consuming phone activation (which involves reading and typing a whole bunch of numbers) might work, activation proceeded OK using that method.
Once activated, the nag messages stop and it's Windows with all its pluses and minuses. The Win 10 UI is a bit clunky to navigate, with some head scratching and several steps to get to desired functions and settings, but so far it has been quite stable.

Windows 10 is overall pretty annoying with it insistence on updating every 10 minutes but it works fairly well other than that.

Could not ask for a smoother process to get Windows 10 installed on an old computer.Windows 10 works great on an old HP laptop. One trick that is helpful is to download a tool that retrieves all your old computer drivers and put it on an USB drive. Because it is an old computer Windows may not have all your drivers.

I purchased this Windows version for my "spare" laptop. It's an older machine that was running Windows Vista, but I still had a use for it and wanted to upgrade to Windows 10 without spending a lot of money. Due to the age of Vista, I could not "upgrade"; it had to be a new install. This was great because I really wanted this machine to be dedicated to my scanner application and not get bogged down with other software. I didn't understand how purchasing a product key worked, but gave it a shot due to the significant savings over buying the boxed product. The instructions for downloading Windows 10 from Microsoft was excellent and very easy to follow. The product key worked perfectly and allowed me to register the product with Microsoft, so this is a legitimate, legal copy of Windows. And, the best part is that as a result of having to do a "new install", my hard drive got completely wiped clean and there's NO BLOATWARE on my machine anymore. My laptop now only has about 4 software packages installed (Windows 10, Adobe Acrobat, Scanner software, and the Chrome browser. Too cool! Regarding Windows 10, I like it better than all previous Windows versions. Microsoft has really improved this version and so far I haven't found any bugs, no hang-ups, no reboots required, no need to end a task via Task Manager, etc. Perhaps this is because the installation is so clean with no extra, unwanted software. I highly recommend this product.

I don't like the package as much as Win7 overall (loss of media center, annoying updates at inopportune times as examples of annoyances) but it is hard to not have at least one of your mainstream business machines on Microsoft. 10 is more touch screen oriented, fixed a lot of the problems 8 had. included apps are mediocre, anything you use heavily will probably not use the included apps.

I installed Windows 10 Pro on a bare SSD drive with no problems. The operating system works great as it should. I do not know, if it can be used to upgrade another version of Windows, because I have not tried it.

Needed to fix a laptop which was beyond help. Restore/Recovery was inop. Loaded Win 10 Pro, installation went very well. Used custom install as I wanted a fresh start. Laptop runs great, and has met my expectations.
It works but it took me a while to find and disable all of the built-in garbage that Microsoft puts in.
Their .PDF Reader application stinks.
I wish Macs weren't so expensive and had better warranties.
I've been a Computer Technician for 30+ years and I wouldn't trust Microsoft to cat sit for me.
I really like the Win10 OS seems Microsoft put some time into developing this one and it comes with a decent antivirus program too.

Downloaded Windows 10 from Microsoft's website to a DVD. Had the machine boot from the DVD drive where the installation went without a problem. It did take a couple of hours to complete the installation. I was hesitant to upgrade from Windows XP but am glad I did. The operating system is similar to XP with respect to accessing most systems through the start button. It was a good choice and I have no the most current operating system.

I needed to be able to encrypt my laptop hard drive for my new job and I knew that the professional version of Windows 10 had built-in support for this (bitLocker). The upgrade was smooth, although I did have to contact Microsoft to give me a temporary product key to get the OS upgraded on my laptop. However, after the install, I was able to use the product key that I purchased and all is good. my laptop is very secure now and my clients information is protected (even if my laptop is stolen). imho, Windows 10 is the best version of windows ever.

Yup It is windows 10 not my favorite OS but its ok, sadly the greedy POS at Microsoft are making people upgrade to it if you wanna use Krappylake or Ryzen in your PC, if you have those chips they make it so you can not get any updates for your PC if you're on windows 7 or 8.1. i call that dirty and despicable typical Microsoft. its still buggy with some games and it packed full of SPYWARE including backdoors for government spying.

I Love that it is not a far stretch away from Windows 7. Newer features that i do not use much if at all, but they do not get in the way. If you are used to and a under the hood Windows 7 user then Windows 10 will be an easy transition. Con, some things are dumbed down a bit for me, i like full access right away. Some may appreciate it keeping them out of trouble. Pro, takes up less space on your hard drive and seems to run smoother. Other than that it is Windows and not Windows 8.

I purchased Windows 10 so I could have a legitimate copy, that's all. As a former Network Administrator and a current network support specialist and computer repair manager, I would not use Windows 10 even in the office. I got hired and reformatted my workstation and put my own Windows 7 on it.
I have used 10, I know it very well, so don't think I'm just pawning it off as a sub-par new operating system. Don't get me wrong, they worked hard on it; they just did stuff to it that I hate.

I build all of my own computers for my wife and me. And just recently I built a computer for my brother who lives out of state. I was surprised how easy it was to get and load on to my computer.

Setup and private software installed, using administrative authority, went without a hitch. Sign in screen, picture change, and password creation was easy. Having lots of stick time with windows, the operating system seems more stable, and finishes more transactions, with better control of the results.

Windows 10 installed all the drivers updated as manufacture did not have any updates. except for one driver, I Went to device manager and asked to install the driver and it searched the Internet and easily found an updated driver. This is better than past experiences with an upgrade version of the software. I recommend installing windows 10 full version. Old computer runs very well on Windows 10 as compared to the old slug-ee windows Vista business.

Its OK i'm forced to use it because i bought a new CPU that updates for will not be supported in Windows 7 updates anymore which means Microsofts Greedy and cares little about its customers. i would rather be using windows 7.

Just what I needed. Upgraded my workstations form Win10 Pro to Enterprise so I could use the new features as well as Direct Access. Not available in Windows 10 Pro.
Worked for me as an upgrade by entering the new Product Key on the activation page. Only fault was the one clean install I did was an older version of the software. No problem just had to wait on the windows update to get the latest version.

I ordered Windows 10 Pro and got a Windows 7 Pro key. I got Microsoft Action to upgrade the key. In the end, I got what I paid for.

Worked great for 4K mkv's and Blu-ray's. Interface is kinda clunky, and it tries to do everything. But not awful.
I moved to the Enterprise version of Windows 10 in order to retain the use of Storage Spaces (MS said they were removing the ability for Pro users to create Storage Spaces with the next update).
I did run into a serious problem with this move -- the Enterprise version that I installed did not recognize the Storage Spaces virtual drive I had created in Windows 10 Pro (but the 90-day trial Enterprise version did). It tried to do an automatic "fix" and failed. Now I can not access the 6 TB of data on that virtual drive, even if I go back to Windows 10 Pro. This is not a good thing! Fortunately I had 99.999% of the data backed up.
Other than that, the Enterprise version is working just as well as the Pro version. And automatic updates are much more manageable in the Enterprise version.
windows 10 is extremely smooth in operation and launches anything you want extremely fast... however you cant turn cortana off and still use the search function in your toolbar... so it forces you to have cortana on who will listen to everything you say until you say her name and then she responds... kinda creepy and bad for privacy...

First, I'm not fully happy with MS starting with Win 8 but Win 10 is easy enough to use. Problem is there are some software apps I use that will not work in Win 10 (i.e. Industrial Automation software and certain audio software) resulting in my having to use virtual machine to use a Win 10 based PC at work.
Also, win 10 home forces you to allow it to automatically look for, download and install updates. Not very good when you are in the middle of a programming task and notice your work station is lagging or worse, causing communication glitches. Win 10 Pro allows you to do what previous releases do and turn off the automatic updates process.
I bought the product because of the very reasonable price and because it is the exact product I was looking for and am a very happy customer.

The product was what I expected. It was easy to install and the computer is working great. Note: when I first installed the program, it did not ask for a key, when the computer booted up the windows 10 version was not Windows 10 Pro. I had to go back and enter the product key for PRO. It took couple of minutes to update and the computer booted up this time as Win 10 Pro. I did not see this as a negative issue, it is part of technology and having patience to do things right.

This Windows 10 license came on a DVD; instead of a flashdrive. I like the DVD license much better. Installation was nice and easy.

this product sadly does not come with a key BUT it is perfect in quality, I had a bricked PC and this saved it my Dell Optiplex 760 has never been this good
