Vintage 60s ORIGINAL by ROBERT Black Glass and 49 similar items

This piece has so much detail – it is breathtaking, and yet in such a practical color! Three sections of beading are gathered at a golden filigree, layered push-in clasp in the shape of a six petaled triple-decker flower; the petals are edged with seven prong-set flat back faceted glass rose montee rhinestones; at the center of the petals are black glass chip beads. The second scalloped brass filigree layer is studded with a different sized black glass chip bead; the center of the flower is a faceted black opaque stone in dogtooth prong settings. The top and bottom sections of beads are clusters of five strings of the faceted opaque glass beads, and the middle strand consists of satin finished, smooth 5/8” beads with GT end caps and black seed bead separators, as well as, every third bead is a channel set amber faceted glass stone roundel bead (8 of them). (Holy smokes, that is a lot of detail to describe.) The shortest bead section is 19”; the clasp is 1 5/8” making it a generous 20 ” with the other sections draping a couple more inches. Stunning. The clasp is marked ORIGINAL by ROBERT on the artist palette cartouche he used; no corrosion, nor verdigris, the clasp is secure. Overall, it is in excellent vintage condition.
