Item description
URANINITE
Natural Uranium Ore
Weight: 6.0 oz Radioactivity: 28,800. CPM (Counts per Minute)
$19.00 plus $10.80 shipping
This URANINITE uranium rock was found during
July 2025, at Jurassic Canyon NM. The canyon
is located 18 miles NW from Grants NM, and
only 12 miles north of the I-40 freeway.
Uraninite mineral gets much attention in Europe,
because a huge volume of this mineral exists at
mines of the Czech Republic, south of Germany.
A top German nuclear physicist, Prof. Werner
Heisenberg, had the resources and knowledge for
Germany to build the first atomic bomb during
the last years of WWII, but Adolf Hitler showed
no interest in it. Here in the USA, geologist
CHARLEY STEEN in the early 1950s discovered a
huge uraninite deposit at his MI VIDA MINE,
located 40 miles S.E. from Moab Utah. Hobbyists
have stated that Charley Steen deserves an
honorary title, such as "Hero of Uranium Mining."
The WHITE DOT on a rock's external surface
identifies the surface location with the strongest
radiational response. This rock has TWO WHITE
DOTS.
Uranium rocks purchased from my Bonanza ads
can only be mailed to buyers with USA postal
addresses, because of a strict regulation enforced
by the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
