Item description
Natural Uranium Rock
URANINITE
Weight: 6.0 Oz. Radiation: 18,400. CPM (mid-level)
$20.00 plus $12.80 shipping
This rock was collected at Jurassic Canyon,
18 miles NW of Grants NM, during October
2025. Jurassic Canyon is the richest uranium
field in the USA, and fourth richest in the
entire world. The uranium ore here was mined
at a 3,000 ft depth. The "mother lode" is
600 ft thick, and it extends horizontally at
depth for six miles, passing directly beneath
the long extinct Mount Taylor uranium volcano
and beneath the Jurassic Canyon area, which
had been inhabited by many varied species of
dinosaurs during the Jurassic Era, 200 million
to 148 million years ago.
The outdated early name for this uranium
field was "Poison Canyon," which is inaccurate
for several reasons. This name was launched
during the 1930s, nearly twenty years prior to
the discovery of uranium ore. The outdated
name does NOT refer to uranium or radiation
in any way. The early name referred to
several non-radioactive biological poisons that
cause hair loss or pregnancy miscarriages in
farm animals that graze on the land. Those
poisons are: loco weed, arsenic, and selenium.
The term, Jurassic Canyon, is geologically and
historically more accurate, because it refers
directly to the many dinosaurs that co-existed
with the active phases of Mount Taylor, the
nearby uranium volcano.
SHIPPING: This will be via postal "Ground
Advantage," which is economical in its rates
and also transports the rock container via
land, instead of via cargo airplane.
