Item description
TYUYAMUNITE
Natural Uranium Rock
7.9 oz. weight, 68,700. CPM Radioactivity
$56.00 plus $12.80 USPS shipping
I found this Tyuyamunite uranium rock at
Jurassic Canyon, 18 miles NW of Grants NM.
I was accompanied by a visiting "rockhound"
family, that collected rocks for five days,
far away from their Oregon home. We
endured a surprising out-of-season
heavy snowstorm on the third day.
What is special about Tyuyamunite is that it
relates closely to Uraninite, a uranium mineral
that is found at the Czech Republic in Europe,
and also at Charley Steen's MI VIDA MINE,
at which in 1952 he discovered a very large
amount of Uraninite with Tyuyamunite. The
MI VIDA MINE is located at the Lisbon Valley
uranium area, forty miles S.E. of Moab Utah.
