Why are my items sorting by price when i've chosen the popularity option for sorting?

Whether I sort by popularity or price, high to low, the items stay in the same order, which is in the priced high to low order. This seems to be a new issue, since I'm pretty sure it was working the way it is supposed to not so long ago.
