What is wrong in my booth that I have had no sales in one year as of next month, june?

Each morning I come here to the community help page to read and be educated on everyone else’s situation, but never thought I would stand on my soap box and speak out “over hear, how come I have no sales in almost one year”. Bonanza has had changes and my positive ways are change is good for everyone. As for me, when I signed up for a booth October, 2012 I sold the following month. There was then a three month gap and sold again February, 2013 and June, 2013. Then a large gap when I sold finally in November, 2014. Followed by 4 sales January, 2015, this was my best month/year. February, 2015 one sale and my last sale June, 2015. I have only had 10 sales from the time I opened my booth until one year ago.

A little about me. I do not broadcast on Facebook. I do not post on there as everyone and their Mother wants to be friended. God forbid I miss one and I hear about it, so no Facebook. I sold an eBay from 2002 up to the end of last year and decided no more as there are too many rude buyers who will not return feedback. One played a game with me to get his feedback and never returned it back to me. I signed up with Etsy about 2013 wanting to sell my Italian Cookies and leave all the Vintage and other item selling behind. I liked Bonanza too much and steered away from Etsy. When I found Bonanza it was because I was looking to find another site to sell online and break away from eBay. When I found Bonanza, I settled in for the long haul and love all the changes as I am comfortable with change. I set my booth on 13% percent max fee. Recently for about 3-4 months I changed to 19% percent to see if I could catch a sale and no luck. I changed back to 13% percent and still no luck.

For months now after reading here in the community about how our booths should be searchable with Google, I thought why have I not checked to see if I am listed. I received a shocker when I looked up MomentsInThyme and could only find my booth. Google Shopping lists all my items. I went to the search bar of Google and typed in my booth name, MomentsInThyme and I could not be found. I even used lower case and my booth is not there.

So where have I gone wrong? or Am I not understanding something here, like I would not be listed unless I was paid for the package and then I would be searchable on Google.com? What do I need to do to keep moving forward as I have lost a whole year and my stats show I have traffic to my booth, but no sales to prove It. I have a tweeter account from about 8 years ago which I have never used. I am not sure how to use the account and would need advice from my high school son who could help me. I want to sell here as I am more comfortable with my Bonanza and the good hearted sellers I have made friends with by emailing and answering a question or having fun making up hand picked lists. I only sell once a year on eBay about three months prior to Christmas when I feel like it. If I could sell here like I do on eBay I would love it. I am a seller just like you, so I do appreciate any input you can give. I will come down off my soap box now that I have shared what the world needs to know and that is where and when did MomentsInThyme fall through the Google crack or cracks?

Thank you in advance and warm wishes to all for successful booths and websites.

Hi. Chin up Kiddo. I found the trick to all of this the other Day. You have to buy Advertising and be sure that you are on the Google Search sites. The Money I spend per advertising Pack is $24.95 aprox. It is so way worth it too. all my items pop up on the first page of anyone who is searchin

I find Facebook useless as well. I tweet and pin. I’m at the basic level on Google. I was at 13% (for some reason I was being charged 19% at one point) and found that the majority of my sales (when I even make one) came from Google. None came from Bing or Nextag (I never even heard of Nextag).

candyapple861 thank you for taking the time to comment. I am on Pinterest and have been for quite sometime. I will have to educate myself on how to pin what I have from my booth. Thank you! Good luck selling.

bonanza is a grift, you wont get any sales unless you hand over a large sum of money and even then you wont get sales.

In order to make Money, it is true what they [URL removed] You have to spend Money. You are the best investment you have. Only you have control over weather you can be seen. No one can see you if you do not tell them you are there. I made this mistake a few years back when I first started on Bonanza. You need to buy several of the Advertising Packs. They are about $24.95 each and I think it’s for a full Month or so. The Moment I bought into the Google Advertising, I started making sales. Good one’s too. Go into all of the info Bonanza offers you to read. Sign up for the Google analytics. No matter what item I have, if a buyer types in an item that I happen to carry in Google, My item that matches their search pops up on the very first page. I am so thrilled to know that too. I tested it myself by typing into Google search an item that I carry and there I was, Front and center at the top of the page. It even showed my items photo. Don’t be afraid to spend a little bit of Money to give it a test run. Good Luck and I hope you sell Millions. I am going to your Booth now to see what I can get for me. LOL
You don’t have a whole lot of items to sell and there is a Big Price Tag on lots of your stuff. Remember the the Buyers already know what the Price is on things they buy. They shop all the time so they know when it’s a good deal and when it’s just too high. Everyone already knows what there things are worth. It’s just they want to get the good deals and that’s what they look for. Can’t Blame em a bit. I do the same thing.

Thank you for all of your great advise. How often do I need to purchase the advertising packs? I am not sure how to sign up for Google Analytics? What is the cost ? Thanks again!

AntiquesGB says: May 13, 2016

I agree, you need to buy the Advertising pack, bought one pack and got 15 sales within a week, it’s just marvelous!

MomentsInThyme says: May 13, 2016

AntiquesGB thank you for your input. What works for you might not work for others. I am receiving Negitive and Positive comments regarding the Advertising pack.Right now I can’t pay for it because of no sales. I would rather list at other sites as well as stay here.

I have had but 2 sales on Bonanza in the past 12 months. Bonanza is what it is, not what it was. Like Bonanza, Etsy is also a mess now. Both Bonanza & Etsy have gone to “Seller Services” to make their money off sellers and there is no longer any sense of direction or any sense of goodness to either of these venues as both are self-destructing from their own selfish interests & greed. My sales on Etsy have dried up too …another it is what it is, not what it was site….so it’s pretty much bye bye to both Bonanza & Etsy for me and back to putting ALL my effort into keeping over 1300 items on eBay where I have been a seller for 14+ years & where there is still some consistency in sales.

My “best” years on Bonanza were 2011 and 2012 with 15 items sold in 2011 and 16 items sold in 2012…after that it was all downhill into nothingness

If you are mainly concerned with feedback, dont look to bonanza for that to change. Most buyers do not leave feedback when they purchase here. As for the advertising, there is no way i would pay $24.95 to get sales., There are other sites out there other than bonanza and ebay where i have been making sales without putting out extra money. I stay with Bonanza because i have been here for quite awile, and when i make a sale here, i look at it as a “bonus” if you will, and the members are great here.

i am over the feedback issue as it has happened here also. I understand. Thank you for your advise on the $24.95 I have avoided that for years and still will. Could you advise me on other sites which I might not know of? As mentioned, I have an etsy account.. Maybe go there as well? Thank you!

I sure wish I had read these comments before posting on Bonanza, I have over 400 sports items we listed almost 2 months ago and no sales, 90% of items haven’t even had a view. They say they are better then eBay, I sure like to know where. I was booted off eBay after 17 years and fell below standard for couple months, which was after all those years we opened a store and after holidays my sales do drop. Very up set now and don’t know where to turn since can’t no longer down load my items off ebay like I could to Bonanza. May reason tried them…Please someone help me, my husband broke his neck, we have over 1000 items to sell and I don’t know where to turn. I do have us on Pinterest, Facebook and Storenvy,no sales there either.
Thanks Countryboys Sports Shop

Simply…. here are no sales except you promote yourself on FB, Twitter, Pinterest. And that doesn’t help much either.

Thank you for your comment. I will be extending my sales to other sites to so call test the waters. I don’t want to give up my Bonanza as I like the community. eBay you work hard to make eBay profit and not yourself because of all the extra fees they have added over the years. Have a great day!

I too can agree with about 65 to 70 percent of what the original poster is talking about. I dont do Facebook and all that other tweet stuff. My stuff on Google shopping is almost non existent to find. That and I get views it seems from stuff I sold YEARS AGO that seems to be stuck out there in cyberspace. When I do find something of mine, for items with calculated shipping (which is also the price I pay), what shows in Google shopping is way waaaayyy higher than the calculated price which is a deal killer at first look. Now Google says shipping is an ESTIMATE but how many shoppers will remember that and want to go deeper into the item to find the real price after putting in their ZIP code?

Like misskeech mentioned, “As for the advertising, there is no way i would pay $24.95 to get sales” especially if I will only realize a sale of perhaps an item under 5 bucks. It just is not cost justifiable to “bet” that sales will come flowing in. That and summer never was a big sales period it seems.

Sales for me on Bonanza were never what they should be for as long as I have been on here but they used to be much better and I was happy with 2 or 3 a month. Now that they have turned (to the dark side) by not promoting themselves as a destination and making us do the the paid advertising money generator at 25 bucks a pop, I just don’t feel I would make enough to justify it.

(Stepping off of soapbox now).

I won’t pay $24.95 to promote my booth. There are other sites I can use to promote i.e.; etsy and Tradsey.

I have been here for about a month and a half and have not seen any sales yet. I also am promoting using Bonanza 19% advertising level but my products are in the higher range. I would not be paying that level if most of my items were under $10.00.

Its been not quite a week for the advertising because I wanted to get more items up before I used it. I only have 68 items up and counting. I am seeing higher views but not by much. Hopefully that changes soon.

I do believe that you need to spend money to make money, but I would not go over board to do it on a site that I barely know. So google analytics is out for me because I am not buying into a plan. Nor am I going to be purchasing advertising packs. I instead will try to advertise my self out side of Bonanza and will try to build some organic traffic which does take time.

I got to say, if I had no sales in over a year on any site and I have worked hard to make the site work for me, then I would be leaving said site.

Wishing you the best MomentsInThyme.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I love my Bonanza as it worked for me in the beginning but due to all the internet changes, etc. I should of a year ago branched out to promote myself on other sites. I got caught up with feeling too comfortable here . Good luck to you! Have a great day.

Hello Moments, Remember you have a lot of competition for sales, Here on Bonanza and all the other selling site, So. You need many listings with good variety with reasonable prices. Just because you list it does not mean there is a ready buyer. Advertise where and when you can at a cost that you can afford making your items potentially visible to buyers. Good Luck to You

competition on Bonanza is minimal compare to eBay, Amazon, Alibaba as traffic here is low & paying for advertising Bonanza listings is nothing more than paying for views of your items. Successfil online selling isn’t about quantity, it is about quality, uniqueness, supply & demand, target market.

hi
I don’t know about everyone else, but it’s 2018. I started in November of 2017 and I had about 2 sales. As soon as I did the Standard advertising for 9% which gives you Google advertising, sales picked up. They picked up so much that over the last year and 4 months I’ve made 784 sales. It works great for me and I paid $24.95 for traffic booster just recently and it’s been amazing. I do very well on Bonanza. At least a few orders every single day. Not as great as I was doing on ebay back in 2009 when I quit there but it’s a lot cheaper to sell on here. At least for me.

This pandemic has affected so many businesses that it became too common for everyone to cry for sales. Like you dear, I also registered myself on many online marketplaces but no help because of delivery restrictions. Then I click here to read on [URL removed] website about ways to improve sales amid pandemic. They nailed it really, they had top-class ideas to help people like us. Every business person must try it once.

Opened my Bonanza shop about half a year ago. Not a single sale. Listed a bunch of products that sells well on other platforms. Marked advertisement percentage too for them. No sales, nothing… Even better, Google blocked 2 of the products’ ads, for no reason. 2 no-brand US flags. makes no sense at all. But who cares, as literally nothing sells, I sold absolutely nothing since I opened my booth.

I could walk around our local small town and I could sell my products. Sometimes I do that. At events I just ask people if they are interested buying a pin, a patch, a flag, and I make 50 bucks.

How Bonanza can’t do that money? Not even 1 sale in 6 months. I was expected about $60 a month, but nope. Absolutely nothing, zero, nada. :-/
