Help with french napoleon bust stone carving?

Any help greatly appreciated on this one – a carving in stone of Napoleon ""Napoleon empereur des francais et roi D’Italie" and mounted with glue onto a frame for display. “Galle Fecit” under the bust in tiny letters. Image looks like same famous image seen on many of the Bronze Medals of the period. But, I have no idea if these were faked, if this is real and if so what it might be worth and what time period I might safely suggest. Any help with this one greatly appreciated. DP

Alrighty,
this is how I see it – I had stuff like that too.
It’s very likely gypsum, poured into a mold and made in masses.
Probably a souvenir from France that someone brought.

Worth? As a souvenir… some $$$ for Napoleon buffs,
other than that I’d offer it as deco for a private bar or so.
It’s definitely mass production -

Sorry… can’t say it’s a real artifact ;)

and greetings from Europe :)

Hi Dan,

I visited the Napoleon Museum in Monaco at The Palais de S.A.S. le Princier de Monaco, a few years ago. They had a lot of Napaoleonic artifacts and treasures. If you write to them, they may offer some identification or at least direct you to another source.

The website is

Sorry the link didn’t work. I just emailed the Dept of Tourism, hopefully they’ll be able to give a credible contact at the Museum.

Thanks for the lead; but, I tried emailing them and the emails keep coming back to me as “mailer demon”… undeliverable!
