Free shipping discount not shown in booth?

Hi — Here’s another baffling problem. Some time ago I decided to add a free shipping discount to my booth, for orders totaling $50 or more. But when I looked at my booth, there was no place where this information was advertised. Of course the only reason I would offer this discount would be to stimulate orders and the only way to do this is if people can see that the discount is offered before they buy something. I asked customer support about this and they said in effect, sorry, we don’t display this information until the customer has placed the item in the cart. (In the meantime I removed the free shipping discount from my booth as I couldn’t see how it could possibly stimulate sales without advertising.) Last week I submitted this problem as a suggestion. I suggested that (like other discounts) that the free shipping discount be displayed in the booth. Well, my suggestion was rejected. I was told that I was wrong and that the free shipping discount is visible in the booth (and they also noted that I have no free shipping discount at the moment, which is correct.) So support told me that free shipping is not visible, while the suggestion moderators tell me it is visible. (I just did a test where I added the free shipping discount again, and it was NOT visible anywhere in the booth.) HELP!

Hi Bookhappy

I just went to your booth and your 10% off an order of $50 or more is showing properly. It’s actually displayed in 3 different locations. Right now I’m using Internet Explorer as I was editing a few of my own items and IE is the only browser that will function correctly for me on my computer doing the editing.

Anyway, your discount is displayed just below the chat box in your booth on the left hand side.

When you click on one of your items it is also displayed at the very top just above the photo and title of the item selected (I looked at this item The Tunis [URL removed] A Walk Through an Arab City 1989 by Fourure Pop-Up book)

It is also displayed in the lower half of the Item page under Product Details.

I’m not sure why they would have told you that it doesn’t display in the first place. But I guessing that there is a possibility that you may need to try a different browser.

I hope that the screen shots will relieve your mind as your discount is actually showing exactly like it’s supposed to. :)

As I said in my question, I’m talking about free shipping, NOT the other discount. I removed free shipping because it wasn’t displaying like the other discount.

If you have free shipping on XX amount spent, then the discount offer shows above the item listing when you open it…since I do not see it in your listings, I am assuming you removed it…

You can also put the information your self in the Booth Overview, or Shipping Policy details under Edit Booth Options>>> Basics or Shipping and Returns

Those with memberships can also put it in the booth panels and you can also add the information to your banner if you like…

Most people come to straight to listings from searches outside bonanza and actually never see the booth page…so it is more important that it is prominently displayed in the listing itself, which it is

By the way…after to added the Free shipping, you did hit Save all my changes and Update booth?

Yes, as I said, I removed free shipping since it was not showing up in the booth. I never saw the above ad (Get free shipping…) when I added free shipping to my booth. I was thinking it would display the same way my other discount was displaying.

I just added the Free Shipping discount again. Now I see that the Free Shipping discount is displayed, but ONLY when you click on an individual item. It is NOT displayed in the booth, the way the other discount (10% off) is displayed. This is baffling. Why not display it where the other discount is displayed?

I perfectly understand and share Your concern about all this issues You’ve talked in Your topics. I’ve stopped to ask or add suggestions about some small but quite important details, which could be easily (technically) done to benefit both – sellers and buyers.

In this particular case Your suggestion would look as on the below picture /the empty space is just ready for [URL removed]

BTW, if I may suggest – since You would like to offer free shipping and for now You can have it visible only on the listings and only with orders over a certain amount, maybe You can set it to the smallest amount the system would accept.
This way You will have this discount at least on the listings and not only in the shipping policies (which is always extra click for the Buyer).

booth membership can change panels…this particular option is a newer one, and sometimes new things get piled on top of older things around here…my guess is the programers never thought to add it to the panel section

but you are right, it is a good idea…

Thank you!!! I was beginning to feel like I was the only one who could see these problems.

You could always edit your Booth Banner to reflect your free shipping over $50, it’s center stage.
Another option that I used was to put at the top of my category section mid left of page.
