When I created a post in Deals & Promotions this morning, I went back and visited it. There was a space for me to comment, and a checkbox if I wanted to receive an email when someone comments.
Then I visited a few of the other members’ posts, but there was no window for me to comment in any of them. I tried with both of my usernames and same thing.
Are Deals & Promotions posts set to “No Comments” by default, with only the OP being able to add to his/her posts? Is the checkbox to receive email if someone else comments just left over from when others could comment?

Bonanza used to allow other users to comment on promotional posts, but discovered that some sellers were constantly “bumping” their posts so that nobody else could squeeze one in to the forum. Plus, some sellers were using other Bonanza IDs or enticing others (by inviting comments) to push their posts to the top.
To be fair to all sellers, Bonanza changed the rules so that you could only post (or bump) your own promotional posts a total of 5 times in a “rolling” 3 day period using the ID associated with that post. That was a very fair way to give every seller a chance to promote their items.
Of course, that dealt a big blow to my Pay-Per-Bump® [URL removed]

I do believe you’re right! I found I couldn’t comment on any of the “Deals and Promotions” myself. I never noticed that before! Good observation!

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:
- "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
- When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
