What is the best software for editing photos and videos?

Returning from a few marvelous trips overseas, I would like to do some editing of both photos and video. I would like your suggestions as to an affordable and easy to use software that will enable me to put together both photos and video with music in a nice YouTube friendly video collage, etc. Suggestions/Advice welcome and appreciated!

Use OneTrueMedia, it’s free
I did a combined Photo/Video for the Bonanzle Up –
Check it out- then you can see how.
In OneTrueMedia you are also able to cut your videos down to the very point or second that you want to show.

I use Roxio Easy Media Creator. It’s pretty easy program, especially for a computer challenged like me. Highly recommend it :)

I use photoshop, picnik.com (free trial version and only $25 a year) photoscape (free) but these are all for photography. Videos I have no idea.

I saw this and was curious myself! I just found a program that came with my computer (I have Windows Vista, so not sure if it’s the same with Windows 7, etc) – it’s called Windows Movie Maker. It took me a bit of messing around with it, but I got it working and made a nice video with music. I’m pretty computer literate, so I didn’t have much trouble, but if you’re not as good with computers, you may want to try the one suggested (OneTrueMedia).

I’m going to try that one now also to see if it’s easier / more user friendly. :)

I use Picasa3. It is very easy to use, and does a pretty good job…and it’s free! Free is good.

I recommend Photoshop for editing photos.
Not sure of videos.
I have used One True Media.
And Windows Movie Maker, I think it’s called.

Maybe I’m reading their software agreement wrong but ONE TRUE MEDIA looks like it then owns your video/photo collage and grants the world access to it? If so, this is not what I’m looking for… One True Media looks like some social network in the makings. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks

I use Nikon View. You can get the free download online. Take a peek at my photos and tell me what you think. If they ask you what camera you use put in Nikon 885. It’s super easy to use and everyone I know uses it and loves it. They don’t want to use anything else.

I use irfanview. It is free and you can do just about everything with photos. There is another program called anyvideoconverter that changes avi to mpeg very easily and smoothly. It also changes the other way around and others in between. Finally, a program called Video ReDo is the easiest to crop movies and join them. Hope this helps.
