Why should i be forced to have a paypal business account?

If you read the small print we are being forced to have a business account. I do not have a business and only sell maybe two items a year on Bonz. This is crazy so I am doing away with Bonanza. I do not need the red tape of a business account. If I make $30 a year on Bonz why should I have to pay a tax attorney thousands to deal with it? I’m out of here!! Goodbye bonz!!

your not..just choose to keep your personal permier account and it will go through

PS..Bonanza is just following the law that selling platforms have to collect taxes…etsy did it without even given the sellers notice, amazon, etc are all doing it also..

i have been trying to re-authorize my paypal account but it’s not going thru. what to do?

misskeech says: June 06, 2019

Yes but on etsy, ebay, mercari and poshmark on none of those did i have to reauthorize my paypal, why just bonanza?

Bonz is a different bird to paypal for some reason. Back (8/6/2017) I recall I had to do something to update paypal to accept payments from Bonz sales (and would not work unless you updated to a business acct (which I had to do to get it to work). Dont recall the exact details why this was so.

I changed nothing with my PayPal account, I just re approved it, works just fine. Keep in mind this isn’t Bonanza, this is government.

I tried to do this. Did you log into Paypal when going to authorize. I logged in but there were no prompts as to what to do. Then I went back to the link Bonanza gave and it said restart authorization. Amazon went fine. I just logged in and bam….the authorizing was done. Any advice?

Empress, I had that problem too. I had to “restart authorization” a few times before the right screen at Paypal came up. If it went right to paypal log in screen then I just closed it and hit the “restart authorizaton” button again.

I sell on other sites, and none of them asked sellers to reauthorize their paypal., I asked on the blog why this is, and they are not posting my question or answering me.

[URL removed] I did get a reply on the blog finally, but still didn’t really answer my question about why bonanza has us reauthorize our paypal but not the other sites.

misskeech..all other sites handle your money before it is given to you..newer sellers at etsy are not even offered the option to use PP..funds just go straight to bank, don’t know about poshmark, but since so new, the authorizations are already ithere. Ebay, well ebay really doesn’t ask, just do

Atomicdiner says: June 07, 2019

Empress, the link on Bonz will eventually ask you to log into Paypal to finish the process.

EmpressDepot says: June 07, 2019

Thanks you all. Will give it a go again then. At least I know I was trying to do what I was supposed to do :)

Trinketbox, yes i know that, I sell on those sites and others… All i was asking is why we did not have to do all this for the other sites yet for bonanza they will close up our booth if we dont comply.

EmpressDepot says: June 09, 2019

Trinket, Etsy is soon, if they have not already, to be doing away with PayPal completely even for those that were grandfathered in. Etsy gave notice of this that it will automatically be switching over. I love being able to use my PayPal card. It only benefits the site and definitely not the seller

Thank you so much for this. I was into this issue and tired to tinker around to check if its possible but couldnt get it done. Now that i have seen the way you did it, thanks guys
