BONANZA IS BY FAR THE BEST ALTERNATIVE TO EBAY AS WE ALL KNOW. IF YOU AGREE THAT ADDING BONANZA AUTIONS TO THIS GREAT SITE WILL MOVE INVENTORY FAST AS WELL AS BRINGING MORE BUYERS TO THE SITE AS WELL AS MORE MONEY TO BONANZA WITH FINAL VALUE FEES. IT IS PROVEN THAT BUYERS PREFER AUCTION BECAUSE OF THE EXCITEMENT AUCTIONS BRING. IF YOU AGREE PLEASE REPLY AND LET THE STAFF KNOW WE WANT AUCTIONS AS WELL AS FIXED PRICED LISTINGS!!

Bonanza would have to spend the $$ to advertise the new auction format. Ain’t gonna happen.

This is an old idea from way back….
It has never gained any traction due to lack if interest from Bonanza.
Many sellers created their own auctions in their own booths using the chat box in their booth to call it but that is a ton of work and people lose interest in it fast when most of the attendees are only there to grab stuff for super cheap or free – not to pay a reasonable price for the seller’s goods.
I’m pretty sure you are getting all excited for nothing because auctions bring up many things that Bonanza hasn’t had in it’s plans – such as setting up the auctions on the site, advertising the auctions, making sure they are not going to have any kind of copyright issues with the bay over the way they create the auctions, more staff to monitor the situation and etc.
Like Toys and Treasures said – “Ain’t gonna happen.”

I personally don’t want auctions here. I fully understand the addictive adrenaline rush of auctions. it’s fun and exciting, as are many things that are not always in our best interest (I will leave that for you to contemplate). I know what I want for an item and if I will take less than what I post, they can use the OBO option. If I want to sell something fast and want to allow the buyer to determine what my selling price (and profits) are, then I will take it to the bay. Auctioning off stuff that many of us already purchased at auctions (for the purpose of reselling at a profit)seems a little self-defeating to me. Contrary to myth, auction prices are not always good for the (reseller) retailer. Moving our stock is not the bottom line. Moving our stock with a sense of it having been a good deal for both seller and buyer makes more sense. I spent my time at eBay wondering why I was giving stuff away…I’m done with it. No offense to those who differ, as it’s just my opinion.

No…Bonanza is unique family friendly site. Low prices, best offer – plain and simple. I like the ‘casual’ format Bonanza has. I personally don’t like ‘frenzy’ type of shopping – it’s a thing of the past. JMHO

I dont know. Auctions seem to be a thing of the past. And on ebay, which i still sell on btw, even fixed price i cannot get sales any longer. I believe due to ebay’s rules against sellers, many sellers and buyers for that matter have moved to Amazon and even Etsy. those sites are not auction sites. I sell on many different sites, so i get sales trickling in here and there. more here lately than on ebay. So not really sure it would benefit Bonanza to put all the time, money and energy into an auction site just to have it fail.

No…..my auctions (and others) on the beast have been dead, dead, dead for a long time…auctions work only for the rare or hard to find items…buyers now prefer instant gratification IMHO…cheers, Vic

No
If you want to auction your goods, go to an auction site.

auctions don’t even work for my items on eBay anymore,so 95% of my eBay listings are fixed price format.
I certainly wouldn’t utilize auction format on Bonanza or any other selling venue.

I think it would be nice to have the option to choose auction style.

The word “Auction” would be attractive to have in our attractive word list of reasons for customers to come. If there was a way to do a really simple feature for Auction style, then that would allow the whole site to be able to advertise as “Online Auction” as well as “Online Marketplace”. However, many here have pointed out the buzz word “AUCTION” has somewhat lost its fizz. When the bay was started, the internet was NEW to the mass public. We have a generation of young adults who know no difference, thus “Online Marketplace” works just fine to drive traffic. The key is to drive traffic, to connect, and then to provide service. I personally have mixed feelings on the issue of Auction vs Listing Only.
