I tried to purchase tracking for a book shipment and was told, no can do as of 6/1/15. I haven’t been to the usps website, but I’m sure it’s true. This was an Amazon book and as many know they offer 3.99 flat for shipping rebate. I contacted them and they pretty much said what I expected "you’re SOL’!
Shipping a book priority is way over $4 and otherwise you’re leaving yourself open to bad buyers. Worse on the bay of course.
Comments anyone?

From what I read they are now offering free tracking on Media Mail, with the May 1st, 2015 changes.

If you check the extra options for media mail at USPS, it now states that there is no charge for tracking (delivery confirmation)…
Just print your label through paypal (they are still charging $0.23 for DC on media)..you will be provided with delivery confirmation number (appears they have not updated option yet)
You can purchase labels by using the shipnow option if they did not pay through paypal
