First class mail parcels will increase 24-33¢ September 3. This was the first I heard of it tonight when I signed into stamps.com to mail my orders. Here is a link to the [URL removed]

I checked into it also..this does affect the commercial rates for online postage at various sites..ie PP, stamps.com, endicia.com and all other sites that use commercial rates…this will only affect over the counter prices…
Starting September 3rd, the USPS will be increasing the price for the First-Class Package Retail/Counter rates and not the discounted Commercial rates
This is the Commercial FC Package pricing…..

The first I’ve heard of it too. I use Paypal postage though. The page for the link you provided said that first class package or parcel was the only service that was affected by the increase. The Stamps.com price chart seems to be divided up differently than what I am used to. I usually ship the small envelope/package rate, and it’s the same 2.61 or 2.64 (can’t remember) up to about 13 oz or something. At your link, the page shows an increase in the rate over 4 oz. But I guess this is for any envelope/package that is not flat or small enough to qualify for the rate that I can usually use. One is envelope/package and the other, the one for which the rate is increasing, is large envelope/parcel.
Thank you for sharing,
Sandi

After re-reading it and looking at a forum or two, this seems like it is a retail counter price increase, so just for someone who takes it to the post office to add postage directly to the package. It “should” not affect those of us who print postage on Bonanza, Paypal, Stamps, or another service. It may however be a premonition for people who use online postage for next year.

Here’s more info that I found through Google implying that shipping purchased through a shipping label provider (PayPal, eBay or Bonanza – though Bonz charges an additional fee) will NOT [URL removed]
“First Class Package Service, available only online, is being renamed First Class Package Service – Commercial. There has been no announcement of any rate change for this class of mail, which is NOT the same as FCM-Parcel or FCPS-Retail. FCPS-Commercial has a weight limit of 15.999 oz. and has contents restrictions that FCPS-Retail does not have. FCPS-Commercial is also subject to postal inspection, whereas FCPS-Retail is not.”
