What I mean by that is there a magic number of listing to have before sales become consistent? I was told that 100 items was it, but I now have 188 items listed with another 16 items to be listed soon and have had two sales so far. Another place I sell on says that the magic number is 500. I’m curious if anyone has noticed something like that here.

We have over 1500 items, down from over 2200 a few weeks ago. I took a lot of things out and sold them in my daughters booth in a high traffic antique mall. I think the magic number myth is just that. Of course the more stuff you have for sale, the likelihood of more sales is probable, but no guarantee. It has to do with volume of traffic, your listings and how/if they appear in Google (and others), what you are selling (is it a demand item and do you have a competitive price). Bonanza is not a household word unless you watch old time TV shows. Our sales have been very slow and I have been contemplating going through my items and trying to improve search visibility, but the yard needs mowed, the fence needs staining, the wife wants a vacation, Elvis is dead and I don’t feel too good either.

Not that I can figure out. Maybe once you get past a minimum that buyers fell confident to buy from you and you’ve built up a little Bonanza feedback. I’m at 2,800 items plus. It just seems to be sporadic as far as sales go. Adding items daily seems to help, to me. Good luck with your sales!

This isn’t ebay and it isn’t Amazon. it is Bonanza, and many people still have not heard of us., even tho that is slowly changing with all the problems ebay has been having lately. There is no magic number, you can have 1 item listed, if someone goes on the web to look for it, other than the other 2 places i mentioned, and they saw you had it, they would probably buy it. It does seem to help by adding items every day. I have not had a sale in over 2 weeks on ebay, yet yesterday i got a nice sale here on bonanza. It really all just depends. Good luck with your sales.

I would like to know , as well as a lot of others. I sold on eBay for 15 years until items just stopped selling. Here on bonanza I have sold 8 items in the last 7 months. I have 107 items listed . Free shipping and with the Christmas in July promotion here I had a 20 % coupon I also do 9% google ads, and make sure attributes are correct. Then I promote on other sites I belong. But I agree you need to try and add things daily. You should check prices on eBay and Amazon and then sell your item for less. Bonanza will and is a site that will keep becoming well known. Just make sure to tell your family and friends to check out bonanza.

There’s not a magic number at any site in my opinion.
