I’m fairly new, and just received a message (yes through bonanza messages)
“I was wondering if my order was put through, when I can expect my item thank you”
I only have a few transactions, so it’s easy to check, nothing with the user id, or transaction #, NO payments. Do I just ignore?

No spams ever for me. I had someone do something similar in my message box in my booth and it was a valid question. The buyer thought he bought the item but had not figured out how to do the purchase. Also if someone pays via an echeck on paypal, it takes a while to show up…the buyer thinks they have paid, paypal is waiting for it to clear, and Bonanza says nothing until it does. I had that happen once.
Sounds like it is probably legit

Why do you consider an inquiry as to an order, spam?
All messages would have to have a userID (a quick-text or a bmail (bonanza email)..so if does not, then perhaps you should forward it to [email protected]

They may have contacted you by mistake. Email them back and ask them what item they are inquiring about, they may have logged in under another account, or changed their user name. If it’s not your item, then let them know that you are not the seller. Spam is rare here, but it does happen.

Never have gotten spammed through Bonanza messaging. Messages have only been real ones! Respond politely and tell them you have no record.

I’ve not had any spam on Bonanza either.

That sounds like a scam. But to err on side of caution, you may want to do as A2Z suggested, and politely inquire what they are referring to.
I’ve gotten a few spam…but not from bots, but from warm, living spammers trying to sell me their products. (Hey, if I want to buy, I’ll come to you, don’t come to me). But I’ve never gotten anything fishy or scam like.
Normally I would report spam/scam to the help desk here, and not bring it to the public forum, but I’m glad you did. If others get a similar message, they should report it to the help desk.

But maybe don’t do that until you ask the buyer for clarification? Idk. It’s up to you.

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:
- "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
- When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
