Depends on your search term. What might be a better solution would be to search for completed sales in your category (you can do this on many sites) and see what search terms netted the most sales. Help buyers find your items. Maybe remove the ALL CAPS FROM YOUR TITLES because Google and other search engines will rank your items lower because of this.

Spending money on advertising when your listings are not optimized properly will not be a good use of your funds. Optimize your items first, then invest in advertising (if you are still not getting the traffic you desire).

eCommerce is not what it was 10 years ago. The rules are constantly changing. Ask yourself how you can improve your rank and how you can help buyers find your items better. Challenge yourself. Those are the best questions, they are action oriented.

May you have many sales soon.

If Bonanza put out national TV ads I would imagine Bonanza and most of its sellers would financially benefit. Places I get my goods have other sellers that never heard of Bonanza, what does that mean when it comes to buyers?

Not sure that many buyers would search using JUST the term “record” on Bonanza – no matter how it is capitalized. It is more likely that the shopper would search for the name of the artist or the name of the album. Doing so would likely narrow down the search results tremendously.

When I searched for some of your records using name of artist or name of the album, your items were showing up in Bonanza search. However, other comments are correct… you’re not likely to have your items show up in Google searches (due to the ALL CAPS) where the vast majority of your potential sales are going to come from.

my feelings also…but did it the way he did it…why anyone would just search “RECORD” is beyond me

I was going to say that titles and description in all CAPS is not your friend. Besides the title, the G-monster (Google) picks up part of the description and if that is all caps like you have them, it will penalize you. You don’t have to agree with the G-Monster but you need to play by its rules if you want the views.

Also, Bonanza has now become a Pay to Play site if you want views but first I would fix the all caps thing and go with no more than 13 pct advertising here and try that.

Best of Luck.

If it’s pay to play only I certainly won’t be around here long.

Well some people seem to do well using Bonz advertising packets but I dont sell enough to justify the monthly subscription cost so I just get it into Google shopping and wait for the sales to come rolling in (NOT).

bonanzamark says: March 19, 2018

Actually Bonanza pays for the advertising upfront (meaning we burden the risk). Once you make a sale via an advertising channel, we then charge you for advertising. Win-win/no risk.

Really? I like caps as they are easier to see and stand out better. I don’t care about google but if someone goes to search records on Bonanza they should show up if they put the word RECORD in search!

While I agree that caps are easier to see and stand out better, it only matters what G-Monster likes if you want to play with them. G-Monster may not be always right but they are the BOSS (and a PIA on other rules they have).

This was discussed in great detail on Ebay. The Ebay representatives have said in detail that “too many words done in caps will insure that Google will NOT pick your item up in search”. Hope you see this and understand, Google does not care if you think they are easier to see.

I was a Ebay seller since 1998 and went to many Ebay seminars. I don’t sell on Ebay anymore, but the information is still good at any venue you sell at.

Best of Luck with your online selling experience.

Bonanza Search

“Record”

for vinyl records under music 148,282 results

Page (first 5 listings are sponsored listings..yes they are paid membership)
Next set of listings are the catalog recomendations as a result of reviews that have been submitted..

Random selection of 5 of these

3 are from free booths
2 are from booths with memberships

The next 64 listings are on Page one..randomly selected 10 of the 64 listings

9 from free booths
1 from booth with paid membership…

From a quick check, I would say to be listed in first line of first page..will always be sponsored listings…but that is only 5 of the listings in the first page. I would say on average..no you do not necessarily need to have a membership to have a good search standing

148,000 listings..that is going to be a lot of pages to scroll through…and not everyone will make the first few pages…

Complying with rules however, will help and truthfully every time you make this post, you have been directed to comply with google rules on titles, descriptions and punctuation…

He doesn’t care about Google. Are you saying that following Google rules can help onsite?

TrinketBox says: March 20, 2018

Yes…bonanza’s rules follow google’s rules…quoted from above “maybe remove the ALL CAPS FROM YOUR TITLES because Google and other search engines will rank your items lower because of this.” It is not only google that uses the all cap rule

TrinketBox says: March 20, 2018

The only place that does NOT follow google rules is Amazon, they refused to pay to have their listings in Google shopping and depend only on reputation..they made their own rules. All other search engines have similar rules and websites comply with google, bing, yahoo and other search engine rules

bed_envy says: March 29, 2018

Amazon is Google’s largest adwords customer, you can find many of the adwords listings for products being sold at Amazon

I’m really curious about this caps thing. I sell on eBay and all my titles are in all caps. I see my listings during Google searches quite often, not necessarily on Google Shopping though. Is there a difference between the two? What I don’t see are Bonanza listings. Or maybe I’m not looking for the right things?
