Formatting text when listing an item

Can someone tell me the best way for format listing text? If I use “Normal”, everything in my listing is double spaced. So I used “Formatted” – but that seems to vary according to browser. For example, this listing looks fine in Firefox, but in Chrome it is missing much of the text and looks totally different.

This listing, using “Format” for text looks completely different from my others and again, totally different in Chrome and Firefox.

I am copying text, but to be sure that I don’t pick up any HTML, I copy from Notepad. And the problem exists even if I duplicate a listing.

It is very frustrating, as I have reformat listings over and over again to try to get them consistent but I can’t. If someone could tell me the best way to do that, I would appreciate it.

Your text looks good from my iPad and iPhone. Have a great day!

Hmmm, to me those 2 listings look good.
To NOT space lines press shift at the same time you hit ‘enter’.
Then you have no space between your text lines.

Thanks BlueBoy – I think I may have figured it out. If I chose “Formatted” and “Arial” they seem to be ok.

Odd that both those listing look good to you in Chrome and Firefox because I haven’t corrected them yet, though.

Hello [URL removed]

They both look great, so guess you fixed. At first, I was setting my listing for Heading 3/Verdana font, and it enlarged and stretched the text very nicely. Before that, I had tried to enlarge the text but that didn’t seem to work. Then I found that some of my listings began to not look good with formatting, so I tried changing text size again, to 12 or 14pt, and using Verdana font again, and it was fine. I like Arial also, but Verdana or Tahoma give more weight to the characters.

I don’t have time to edit all listings to change format, but when I run across one, I usually edit it. Have a nice day!
