IF I am an individual seller, and sign up for Amazon pay, will this require me to pay taxes and file at the end of the year?
I am a very small time seller and don’t want to hassle with taxes

runkkun,
I have never received anything for example from PayPal, but then again I don’t make enough in sales to be taxed to sell online. Call Amazon Pay and ask if they report for taxes. Hear it straight from their representatives so that there are no surprises. Then check with your individual state with regards to selling online. I had researched the topic online a year ago and I read the tax would be based for online sales of $1,500 or more before you are taxed, but again check with your state as to the amounts and or percentages.
Our California Governor wanted to implement the state tax for online sellers this past year and I’m waiting for the issue to be concrete. I have not heard anything since, but I’m sure our State will get in on the bandwagon like all other States. Good luck!
Enjoy your selling experience here at Bonanza.
Have a wonderful day!

Amazon pay is similar to PayPal…
You will have to meet a minimum requirement in sales before a 1099 is sent to you…
PP is $20,000 and over 200 sales/yr (have to meet both requirements).
Google checkout when it existed had the same requirement and so did Checkout by Amazon (which is now Amazon Pay..) You will have to provide information for tax purposes…just in case you do meet the requirements
