I have this great three-legged vase with “California Craft” marked on the bottom but can’t find anything about the company or brand, age, value, etc. Any help will be appreciated!

Went to your booth and looked at your piece – I believe it is a Hobby Cast piece. That is, it was made in a ceramics class by someone. My guess is that the name is not a company name but a local store or local ceramics shop’s name and someone painted/glazed etc it in a hobby shop class or similar… that’s why no brand name comes up with that name… try local business names in CA – it’s a big state but that may be it.
Just a thought.
p.s. adding – I agree that many California pottery pieces sell well for their appeal in certain home decorating schemes. I love pottery from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s whether big name brand or local potter I have some gorgeous pieces and their value varies – some I wouldn’t take any amounts for….

Most pottery items marked from or made in California don’t resell too high. The FRANCISCAN dinner items are probably, at most, the higher end resells and have been known to close in HIGH sells nearing the holidays.

I agree with Jamiro and la-boo-teek…meaning it may be a hand crafted piece from a local studio craft shop but it also looks to be from the 1960’s…very “modern” and simple. Regarding CA pottery as Rockonbyaudi stated Roselane is very collectible along with several others to include Catalina. I’d say it’s priced fairly…good luck Chevare!

I see that you listed it. I looked at it and live in California and have seen quite a few pieces of various California pieces but this one is a mystery to me. Google was no help either, I tried that one for you too and went quite a few pages deep. Good luck to you with it.

Very interesting vase! Looks like made in the 70’s when California (studio art) pottery was the rage! I disagree that California pottery doesn’t “resell high”. It depends on the Buyer as with anything. If somebody wants to add this to their 60’s/70’s decor, your asking price is very good!
