Just came across this piece. I think it really neat but am just not sure what it is. I thought maybe a bracelet but there is no clasp and without a clasp it is 8 3/4" long so definitely too large to be a bracelet of the vintage this appears to be. This is constructed of 3 chains and a prong set rhinestone chain fashioned together with jump rings and spaced with brass tubes. The rhinestones are jonquil and there are small rhinestones glued onto the large links. The bars on the ends are 2 1/8" long so this is really wide. The chain part of this is 6" long
Any guess what this is?

Could it be part of a head decoration? I am thinking as one would use a tiara. Only the part that goes around the back has gone missing and would have been adjustable to some degree. It’s very pretty!
[URL removed] Gotcha on the very flexible. The choker thought crossed my mind, but they are usually all the way around the same except for maybe an inch for the closure. And it would drive me bonkers if it was one, to wear it that is!!

Germaine, very flexible. Don’t know how that would work.
Yetta, I thought through all of those ideas too. Would be a lovely bracelet but soooo long. As a choker I would think the 2 bars would be really uncomfortable and the wide part wouldn’t even go half way around the neck so not sure how that would look.
It is pretty tho and interesting design. I would say a lot of work went into it!
Thank you Lynn and CCMom! I think I might lean more to that than a choker. As a choker it would be very uncomfortable and the ends wouldn’t be very attractive on the sides of the neck. If it is part of a belt it would have been just an accent in the front since it is only 6" long not counting the smaller links. Perhaps tho there was another section like this. With the weight I could better see this as a belt than a choker.
So, scrap parts or put a clasp on it and make it a bracelet? ;)
Thank you Yetta! I had thought about that possibility but most I found were 3.5-4" long and only 1.25" wide. That would make this a very large one. Maybe tho!

I think the closure (hook) is missing.
Otherwise, yeah, a tight necklace.
(Kind of a Trachten thingy, ethnic jewelry?)

I think this is part of a belt. The ornate part would be on the front of the dress at the waist and the rest would be links like you have 2 of at the end would make up the rest of the belt.
Anyway, that’s my 2 cents.

This reminds me of a “girder” or something a belly dancer would wear. Had to be flexible for the movment. Could even have been sewn onto a skirt. It is quite pretty.
