Just got a box of jewelry from an Auction and am having fun researching the pieces. I came across this sterling tack pin marked Tiffany and CO on the back The front has TIME and a letter Q with a D in the center. Any ideas what this is? It also came in a Tiffany flannel pouch.

Better pics and showing clasp and back. Don’t have any idea on age as jewelry box items from this auction ranged from Victorian watch chains to Sarah Coventry! I have seen jewelry from other makers in this type of pouch that were from 50s-70s but don’t know if that means anything.

I tried various renditions of Time Q and D and came up with nothing. Rings no bells. How old does the piece look? Standard tie tack? Wondering if Tiffany could tell you anything.
[URL removed] It is exactly the same font that Time Magazine uses, I assumed it was theirs. It is most likely a D, look at the sharpness of the corners on the left as compared to the roundness of the corners on the right.

I tried the times square idea and came up with nothing that matches. Like you JohnGermaine I had tried all those combinations too. Looking at what other Tiffany tac pins have sold for will at least help me price it. My hubby thought it might be Time Magazine but I wasn’t leaning that way with the Q!
Thank you all for your insight!
@HodgePodgeLodge above Tiffany Co is STERLING.
Montrose, that is a very thorough answer! How do you do it?! Thank you!

Just throwing this thought out….
Something related to Time Magazine????
OOOPS…Just noticed that your hubby thought the same thing :)
Great minds think alike! LOL
At first glance, I thought Time Magazine.
ON the back of the pin, above “Tiffany & Co.”, what does that say?

Why don’t you just contact Tiffany and ask them?

Is it possible that it is from a set of cuff links, instead of a tie clip. I to thought Time Magazine maybe a retirement gift or job promotion. The Q could be initial

It’s a Time Life Film Presentations service (Anniversary) item from the 1271 Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue) in Rockefeller Center in New York office.
Tiffany & Co. has been making service pins and gift items since the late 1960s for Fortune 500 companies.
