Getting information on pins

I got a huge lot of pins. Some are classic cars, some are hard rock cafe, butterflies and insects. They are metal. They all have backs, some look like tack pins and others look like baby pin type (not sure what you call them).

My question is how to I identify these? How do I create descriptions? I have never sold these before and don’t know where to start.

Take pictures of all sides, angles and any marking. Make sure your title has the most important keywords for that pin.

I have a few of these type of pins in my booth and what I did was to make sure that I had plenty of key words in the title and listing description. These can also accurately be called lapel pins, make sure and use that term too. If they have enamel, describe the colors and the design. If there are rhinestones, do the same. Make sure to give the dimensions and weight. I usually put a small item next to a dime or something well known for comparison in my photos. The most important thing is your pictures, make sure to show the pins from all angles.

Casper, little pins with the “Clutch back” like the antique car pin you have listed are also called “Hat Tacks” in this part of the country. People put them on the front of baseball caps and cowboy hats.

I am by no means good at describing things. How do I know if the ones I think have rhinestones are actually rhinestones? As for the classic car pins I have no clue as to what the car makes are. Do I just go ahead and list them without typing in the car make?
