Alex wishes the team "so long" as he departs
with a few choice gifts from the office
Just a quick post to let everyone know that our own Mr. Alex Berg has decided to bravely venture forth and create his own new company. After having been a part of Bonanza as well as numerous other startups over the last 10+ years, I applaud Alex for having the go-getter spirit to give his own (yet to be unveiled) company a go. Here's what he has to say about it:
"It’s with tremendously mixed feelings that I write to let you know this will be my final week at Bonanza.
"I’m leaving to start my own company – a near lifelong dream. While I’m very excited about it, leaving, as they say, is hard to do. Bonanza is without question the most amazing community I have ever been a part of.
"I’m very proud of what the team has been able to accomplish in past year. The site has improved leaps and bounds and the business is doing better than ever. I just love seeing record months in the middle of summer – it’s a great sign for future growth and a fantastic holiday season. I don’t expect you’ll notice too much of a change around the ranch. The team will keep right on cranking out new features, improving existing ones, and listening to your feedback and suggestions.
"Thanks so much for the privilege of working with all of you. I had a blast."
To which we respond: right back atchya, gent.
So what does it mean to you? Probably not much, save for a bit less blogging until we find our new project manager. As valuable as Alex has been to improving our buying experience, with a crack team like the one Alex has helped us to assemble, I predict our rate of progress will continue as rapidly as ever. Please join me in wishing Alex good luck on his new venture, as we move onward and upward here at the ranch!

I don’t like it at all. I do not want you to go. I depend on your blogs and seeing you interact with the community.You are a powerful trouper here and have taken quite a bit of flack. You have such a competent and terrific presence, there will be a hole left behind.

As I get into (well, quite a ways into … ahem…continuing) my senior years, I regret not stepping out of the security of “something concrete” and going for my dream when I was younger.
I applaud your initiative to “step out” and follow your dream. You will so be missed around here, but you have contributed a lot which I know will be continued!
Oh no! Losing Alex is like losing an arm. LOL Seriously, though, I commend you for taking this step to venture on your own and wish you all the best in everything that you do. We appreciate everything you’ve done for us and you will surely be missed! Happy Trails, Man!
