I'm the shy, quiet type. Well, ummm, yes, I guess I am. I'm one of those people who is content with her own company. Give me an hour of quiet time with a good book and I'm in pig heaven. Crowds tend to get on my nerves (Shopping Malls are NOT within my comfort zone!). Of course, with 5 children (4 adult & 1 teenager) and one grandchild things can get a bit crowded around here at times, but that kind of crowd I love. Family crowds are the best kind :O
I love animals and my family is currently owned by 4 cats and 1 dog who has been brainwashed into thinking he's a cat. Which is ok, since one of the cats thinks she's a dog. No seriously, she all but woofs! Her real name is Abigail, but she has several nicknames. One of her nicknames is Sargent Muff-Muff. Need I say more? She is one big, Drill Sargent of a cat! Another nickname of hers is Luv Muffin, but that's another story....
Our animal family members also include Boo, Blaze, Callie and Jack. We adore them all!
I love digging for lost treasures at estate sales, garage sales, rummage sales, ect. I never know what I'm going to find and each item that I bring home is special to me in some way. So many of these things were once loved and treasured by someone. Sometimes I think that they've just been waiting for someone like me to re-discover them and help them find a new, special someone who will love and treasure them once again :)
**I've had numerous kind comments about my furry orange friend, Blaze. I found him as a tiny kitten at a garage sale where some kind neighbors were trying to find homes for him and his family after the cats' owner moved and left all of them behind to fend for themselves. Without really thinking about it, I found myself walking out of the sale with a little orange fluff ball in my arms. In the 2 1/2 years since that infamous day, Blaze ('cause he's Blazin' HOT!) has kept us on our toes with his antics. I have never had a cat so full of mischief!! Besides the usual feline mischief, he tends to eat and chew on inappropriate things such as tape, plastic, wires, pretty much anything that has the possibility of using up one of his nine lives he finds edible. Soooo, we've had to Blaze proof the house. Extension cords, TV wires, lamp wires - all covered with a hose type of thing that my husband rigged up. Any used shipping tape has to be taken right outside to the garbage. Absolutely no plastic film of any kind can be left anywhere. Not even the garbage can as Blaze will sniff it out. I can't tell you how many times we've found the office garbage dumped over and scattered all around the room! Shipping days are his "favorite" days and he LOVES to help. Hmmmm, dare I admit that he's gotten the occasional kitty time-out so that I can actually finish my work.....fortunately, he seems to view his time-outs as nap time, so he doesn't mind them at all :) He drives us nuts sometimes, but we wouldn't trade him (or any of our pets) for the world!
