HTML to prevent product listing description or webpage content theft This code prevents folks from right-clicking or using the control-v shortcut to copy words on your page. They can still retype word-for-word, or take print-screenshots, but wouldn't that be discouraging for you if you were a scraper? It's like a burglar alarm doesn't stop all thieves...but it stops most of them. STOP PLAGIARISM WHY USE IT: Besides the fact you may not want people to copy your content you worked hard to create or post... Google hates duplicate content, and will try not to have items appear at the top of search results if it's deemed duplicate content HOW IT WORKS: If someone right-clicks, they will get the message shown in photo: "Function disabled!" Using ctrl-v will NOT allow them to copy/paste, but they DON'T get the "function disabled" message. Works on almost any web page or website.
