Excellent Radio

Ross Electronics sold a lot of novelty radios as well as mainstream radios in the 50's, 60's, and 70's. They had a plant in Japan and did a lot of their own manufacturing, but did sell rebadged Admirals and Signet radios. They did, unfortunately, develop a reputation for cheaply made radios, but this came from the novelty lines. I have found their radios to be equal to GE, RCA, and Admiral radios, but not as good as Zenith products.

The model 2311 is an excellent radio with a surprisingly good audio which is detailed and powerful. the FM is very good. The whip antenna is more than enough to pull in weak shortwave stations, and the ferrite bar antenna does a decent job with AM.

A bonus with this model is the ability to use and recharge NiCad or NiMH batteries.

The seller did an excellent job in the transaction as well.
