The lenses came wrapped in a bunch of bubble wrap and I really appreciated the dedication put sending these item all the way to CA. Both lenses work perfectly and they are in perfect condition.
Dont be put off by the slow aperture, the image quality this lens offers is brilliant. Perfect for video work.
You really can't go wrong.

Very good lens for the price point, not quite as sharp as a wide prime that I have, but still great for general use

If you've handled a Takumar before, you'll know what a joy they are to use. Mechanically they couldn't be better. I have the older "Super Takumar" version of this lens and thought I'd get the SMC to compare it to. Put simply, the older Super Tak is brilliant for black-and-white pictures while the SMC just about edges it for colour. It renders images with a little more contrast so perceived sharpness is greater and colours 'pop' a little more, while the older Super gives b+w photos an almost silvery quality. Wonderful glass. Get both if you can!
