This GPS has many driver assist features which work well. It alerts you regularly (visually and audibly) if you deviate from the lane, alerts you each time the speed limit changes, alerts if you are approaching the vehicle in front of you too fast, alerts you if you are approaching a school zone and has the front pointed camera recording what occurs in front of you (once you buy a micro SD card to insert). Of course, it also provides verbal and visual guidance to a destination you enter. Two minor things I don't like as well: I think the daytime bright screen mode stays on too long as it gets dark early in these December days, I wish there was a way to manually dim it and I prefer the actual visual appearance of upcoming exits with zoom in exit details and better lane to be in indications ahead of time I used to see on the screen of my former Navigon (now out of business) GPS unit. But overall I am pleased with this unit and am happy with it. I have not yet tried to update the map, but it appears that will not be difficult to do online.
We are particularly pleased with the safety features of this dash cam model...exactly what we needed to upgrade safety of our Ram pickup + navigate with ease and efficiency.
