Item description
Box part 1 has a small sticker shadow on the lower right corner. Box part 2 has a large sticker shadow across the bottom portion of the cover. (see photos). This is the superior SP mode 4-tape set (2 in each oversized box) that has higher clarity than the inferior 2-tape sets being offered.
This was an epic 6 hour mini-series event made for TV and so the full frame is normal for this era. Perfect for old school televisions as the image will fill your square frame. There were a few hiccups, read at the end of each episode synopsis.
Episode 1 the Plauge: A lab in California has a deadly virus that escapes and infects the world, killing millions. As law and order disintigrates, the end of the world has begun. It had a few light rolling lines at the very end of the tape.
Episode 2 the Dreams: The virus kills all but 1% of the population that begin to have dreams. Dreams that will draw people to the good side and others that will take a darker path... Had to tweak the tracking for sound at the start.
Episode 3 the Betrayal: Forces of good come together in Boulder, Colorado, rallying around the saintly Mother Abigail; while the forces of darkness are drawn to the demonic Randall Flagg in Las Vegas. But after Flagg orders an attack on Boulder, Mother Abigail is forced to send a small group of her most faithful followers on a mission from which none are likely to return! Had a few quick lines at the bottom of the frame near the end. There is a hairline crack in the right window of the cassette.
Episode 4 the STAND: with the fate of humanity at stake, the men of "Boulder Free Zone" head for a confrontation with Flagg and his sadistic followers. While Flagg plots to secure his future by choosing a bride to bear his unholy heir, rising unrest threatens his ruthless empire. As the situation grows increasingly chaotic, the deranged weapons maker "Trashcan Man", unearths a missile warhead deep in the desert and sets out to deliver his nuclear offering to his demonic master.
Meanwhile in Las Vegas, the final conflict is approaching, as Flagg incites his wild-eyed disciples for the final conrontation that will wipe out the forces of good once and for all! After watching this door-stopper set, stay tuned for a behind the scenes featurette with interviews at the end of tape 4. This also had a rolling line at 40 minutes in, otherwise it played fine. The cassette has a hairline crack in the left window.
