PREACHERMAN (1971, VHS) fleeces church, and 50 similar items

Box cover has some light shelf wear around the corners and a sticker shadow on the bottom left spine. Cassette is nice and clean duplicated in the superior SP mode, beware of others offered that are not. Pre-viewed for quality and played fine until near the end it had a few lines at the outside revival scene and then on the closing credits. An impressive independant effort considering the director, screenwriter, producer is also the star who went on to make Roger Corman films. Albert T. Viola, using the name Amos Huxley, stars (as "himself") in this southern comedy drive-in hit. PREACHERMAN is a con artist who seduces farmers daughters, fleeces congregations and sells moonshine. Amos goes after blonde hillbilly Mary Lou, who "has an unnaturall hankerin' for menfolk." A hillbilly named Farley (Pat Patterson) has sex with chickens. Banjo music soundtrack with a great theme song. There's a gospel-singing (one-armed) brother and sister who help sell moonshine ("God's nectar"). It all has a real down-home southern feel to it. Great drive-in movie is now rare and Out Of Print (OOP). Was only available as a cheapjack made on demand dvd-r. These have no frills and are usually taken from the same sourceprint as this vhs. They also don't play on recordable decks, have random chapter stops and are kind of pricey.
