Item description
Box cover is slightly faded with three obvious sticker shadows (see photo) and the top right corner flap is a little dog-eared. Cassette is nice and clean and has a small numbered security sticker on the left endcap assuring you of first generation quality.
Pre-viewed for quality and plays great, Out Of Print and no longer being manufactured in any format.
This is an attempt (by the director of 'Ocean's 11,12 13') to make an expressionistic film combining elements of Kafka's life and his writings. Similar to the film 'Raven' with Edgar Allen Poe. Jeremy Irons plays KAFKA, an insurance clerk in 1919 Prague who also writes fiction on the side with his Remington. Trying to find a missing friend, he has to go to a castle with a bomb in a briefcase, and there are horror-movie overtones.
The cast is great: Theresa Russell as a terrorist, Armin Mueller-Stahl as a police inspector, Joel Grey as a nosy office worker, Alec Guiness as Kafka's boss, Ian Holm as the mad Dr. Murnau, who's creating the perfect drone worker, Jeroen Krabbe (from '4th Man'), Brian Glover (Crispin's dad), and Robert Flemyng (from 'Horrible Dr. Hitchcock').
Filmed in black white by Walt Lloyd in Prague, with a 17 minute color sequence at the film's climax in the castle. Barry Levinson was the producer and the soundtrack by Cliff Martinez was issued by Virgin records.
