Quiet Pond: Quilted Art Wall Hanging, and 12 similar items

A selection of Japanese prints led to the making of Quiet Pond. The two fabrics with the gold swirls looked like variations on the same pattern, though the swirls did not fit together. They did, however, suggest water, with the speckled pattern suggesting water closer to the flowers in the water. The stone wall came from fabric I have used before; the gap suggests a path leading beyond. Cherry trees look out over the wall The brown border is a soft stretch velvet that sets off the scene. Size: 21" x 22" My artwork is mounted on foam core, which creates a light-weight but rigid piece with a wire for hanging and a felt backing. It is treated with a sun-block spray, although prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may eventually cause fading.
