This is a Collectible Plate The Panda (#1200) by W.W. George Pottery Fine China by Naturalist Artist Will Nelson and distributed by the Bradford Exchange in Des Plaines, Illinois. The Panda is Mr. Nelson’s first creation for the medium of limited-edition collector’s plates. “When I saw the pandas in China, I was thrilled-and yet I was saddened, too by the thought that these uniquely beautiful animals may vanish from the earth”. Bradex Number: 84-G20-15.1, actual diameter: 8 inches. It is plate number 18173K and is the first issue in the Last of Their Kind: The Endangered Species collection. Will Nelson, the recipient of many major awards, including those from the Academic Arts Association, Creative Arts magazine, and the Printers Guild, has achieved widespread artistic recognition. His works have been shown in numerous exhibitions nationwide and are included in many corporate and private collections in both the United State and Canada. He continues his collection of studies dedicated to the preservation of threatened world wildlife.
