I am offering the 1936 British West Africa King Edward VIII, emperor of India copper nickel coin # 230.
1 Penny, Issued by, British West Africa, 1936 KN. Minted by King's Norton Metal Company, Birmingham. Struck in the name of King Edward VIII. One of the few coinages struck in the name of King Edward VIII before his abdication.
OBVERSE: An imperial crown above a central circular hole with a scroll ornament to right and left; below crown, ONE PENNY; around, outside the scroll ornaments, EDWARD VIII REX ET IND: IMP:; below hole in Arabic, the denomination; the mint mark, KN, below the central hole.
REVERSE: Around circular central hole, Solomon's seal, consisting of two equilateral triangles interlaced; around, BRITISH WEST AFRICA 1936.
Edge: plain.
Measurement: Approx. 31 mm.
Weight: Approx. 9.4 grams.
Condition: Extra fine, see photos.
