Vintage Carved Blue Agate Mexican Aztec Sundial Necklace Striped Blue Agate Beads Gemstone Necklace Blue and White Stone Disk Aztec Mayan Calendar Design Gold Metal Band 27 Inches Hand Carved This is a gorgeous vintage hand carved blue agate gemstone bead necklace and pendant. The thin stone disk is nicely etched and detailed on the front with a sun shape and a design that resembles the Aztec Calendar symbol. The back is smooth with the natural grain in the stone. The disk is encircled with a gold tone metal band that wraps at the top around the pendant bale. The etching creates a white image on the blue stone. There are round and elongated beads that make up the necklace. It measures approximately 27 inches in length. The pendant is 2 1/4 inches in diameter. This is most likely from Mexico and is from the late 1960s to early 1970s. It is in excellent vintage condition. There are six large elongated beads and 30 smaller round beads. The ends of the elongated beads have a few little nicks from the normal wear of bumping into other beads. You don't see them without magnification. I have taken many pictures and enlarged them so you can see the details and condition for yourself. This is a unique necklace to add to your collection of vintage jewelry. It is exquisite in detail and has such a brilliant and vibrant hue of aqua blue.
