If this were a conventional reel I might be able to render an opinion but this is a spring-loaded reel and thus I'm not confortable with saying: "it works". Let me just say this: it APPEARS to be in working condition. Then again, if you are collecting this for the collector value and not to actually USE it, then you won't care much...
