Item description
1879 Palmer House 13th Annual Banquet Menu Society of the Army of Tennessee
An unusual single sided menu that is loosely mounted on a backing cardboard. The back of the menu is blank. There are stains on the backing board that do not affect the menu.
An 1879 Palmer House Menu from the 13th Annual Banquet of the Society of the Army of Tennessee. The Menu is die-cut in decagon shape with four folding flaps with illustrations.
General W T Sherman presided at the Banquet and gave the First Toast. This Toast was responded to by General Ulysses S Grant. There were 460 people in attendance.
A look at the menu reveals an amazing amount and variety of food.
The menu measures about 9 1/4" high x 8 1/4" at the widest.
A Piece of History.
Due to the size limitations of my scanner, the entire menu may not show in some of the scans.
in very good condition . It is mounted on a backing board
