This is a Bank of England 1 banknote, also known as a one pound note, from the Series W issue.
The front of the note features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
The note was signed by L.K. O'Brien, who served as the Chief Cashier of the Bank of England.
The Bank of England issued 1 notes from 1797 until 1984, and they were withdrawn from circulation in 1988.
This particular series of notes is no longer in circulation and is considered a collectible item.
