UP FOR SALE: Antique Edwardian lavaliere necklace crafted in solid sterling silver, dating to circa 1900. The necklace is clearly marked ?STERLING?, with the stamp located on one of the square crystal links near the clasp?lightly struck and typical of Edwardian construction, where marks were often small and easily worn with time. Set throughout with clear faceted crystals that exhibit strong prism and rainbow color flash under light, consistent with early Austrian lead crystal used to imitate diamonds during the Edwardian era. The articulated square-cut crystal links lead to two suspended teardrop crystal drops, creating elegant movement and exceptional sparkle when worn. Total weight: 35.65 grams. The sterling silver settings show honest, age-appropriate wear consistent with over a century of use. All stones are present, with no breaks or repairs observed. This piece remains remarkably intact for its age. Edwardian lavaliere necklaces of this quality and construction were highly fashionable around the turn of the 20th century and were often sold through fine jewelry departments.
