For simple use, You can drop in a blank +RW disc and push record and be up and running! Connect to a camera for instant push button security recording. See pict of front panel for other disc forms it may use (DVD Video/ R/ RW ? ) or do some research to see what all blank media it can work with. We only tested with +RW and worked fine with that. No remote, you may want to find one to access all features, such as formatting, finalizing etc. Also many camcorders with DV jack can be used to control the dubbing via camcorder remote. No manual, you will want to find one online if not familiar with this unit or for any troubleshooting.
