Up for sale are newly manufactured, steel hobbyist styli for record cutting lathes. These are perfect for the record cutting newbie who doesn't want to ruin $100 styli while they learn. The fidelity is very good for a steel needle, though not quite as good as a sapphire. These are NOT old steel styli, which, even if unused become pitted from age and are generally unusable. There are several types for different purposes, so please specify what you want ACCORDINGLY to the photograph: 1. Recordio/Suitcase Steel Needle type: These are modeled after the traditional steel needles with the flat back and faceted front. The shank on these is large enough to accommodate a crystal cutter head. These will only fit in home recorder, suitcase styli recorders. 2. Presto/Grampian Steel Needle Type: These are also modeled after traditional steel needles, but have a thinner shank and will fit in magnetic cutter heads. 3. Cones: These are used for embossing polycarbonate plastic. These will only work in magnetic cutter heads (Grampian/Presto) that are capable of leaning back a little. These are being sold on sale at $9 each which is much cheaper than you would buy elsewhere. I make good test cuts with them even using a plastic pie plate! There should not be that much weight for needles, so I would estimate that the cost would be at a minimum of $13.00 Internationally for as many needles as you want. RECENTLY (in 2020), I have noticed that in some countries postage is higher as much as $13.50.
