From the Manufacturer
The EPB66 welded base embeds in wet concrete at time of pour and supports a 6-inch by 6-inch post. This connector was designed to help resist uplift forces. Post bases do not provide adequate resistance to prevent members from rotating aout the base and therefore are not recommended for non top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports).
Features
Added standoff adjustability to suit a variety of applications
Install in wet concrete
Provides the code-required 1 in. standoff when properly installed, allows up to 2-1/2 in. of standoff above concrete (if desired)
Not recommended for non top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports)
