The Cowboys was made into a film in 1972, starring John Wayne. William Dale Jennings (1917-2000) was a LGBT rights activist, playwright, and author. Jennings was also a decorated WWII soldier who was stationed in Guadalcanal. A relatively uncommon first printing with most copies encountered these days issued by the Book Club.
