Item description
This vintage postcard features the entrance hall of the Thompson-Neely House, located in Washington Crossing State Park, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The image showcases a beautifully preserved early 18th-century interior with authentic period furnishings, including wooden chairs, a spinning wheel, a wooden cradle, and a clock, all set on richly patterned rugs over wide plank flooring. The warm tones and detailed lithographic printing capture the historic atmosphere of this landmark known as the "House of Decision."
Published by The Scheller Co., Hackettstown, NJ, in 1964, this original printed lithograph postcard measures the standard 5.5 x 3.5 inches and features a chrome finish that enhances the vivid colors and historical appeal. The back includes a brief informative description about the room and its historical significance related to General Washington's troops and their crossing of the Delaware River in 1776. This collectible postcard is an excellent addition for history enthusiasts, postcard collectors, or those interested in Americana and early American architecture.
